If you ask me, 'What are your credentials? What can you show the Philippines? We heard you are a womanizer. [I will answer] That’s correct, I have a wife, I have a second wife'.- Rodrigo Duterte

Managing The Economy While Working On His Own Schedule

While being open and honest about his love life, Duterte was eager to emphasize that he does not rely on government assistance to support his way of life. He also doesn't use his power to curry favor with ladies.
He claimed that because he was close to the manager, he once turned down his younger girlfriend's desire to purchase her a used automobile from the Davao Toyota branch.
He joked:
I told her ‘No, because what trips will we use it for anyway? I just pick you up from your boarding house, we go inside a motel, and we only do short time.’- Rodrigo Duterte
Regarding handling the economy, Duterte asserted that a successful leader should be able to divide his time with the nation's management in the same way that he does with his romantic interests.
“They are not in a house or condominium or subdivision, they stay in boarding houses, they get P1,500 month,”he said. “That’s all I can afford, I can’t touch my salary for that because that is for my family,”the speaker said.
