She signed in the presence of GMA Chairman and CEO Felipe L. Gozon, President and COO Gilberto Duavit, Jr., and other top executives of the Kapuso Network.
GMA News Online quoted Jennylyn as saying: “Parang thirteen [years na ‘kong Kapuso]. I feel so blessed and wala naman akong plano mag-stay sa iba. “
[I’ve been a Kapuso for almost thirteen years. I feel so blessed and I don’t a have any plans to transfer to another network]
“This is my home. GMA is my home,” she emphasized.
She also revealed the reason why it took her quite some time to renew her contract.
There were rumors that her camp was entertaining an offer from ABS-CBN and that the actress has a hard feeling against GMA.
According to an article published by Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP), Jennylyn said they needed to arrange a lot of things before she renewed her contract.
“And I’m sure busy rin po sila [GMA executives], hindi po nag-meet yung schedules. Pero hindi naman natagalan,” she added.
[I’m sure that the GMA executives were busy as well that’s why our schedules didn’t meet. But it really didn’t take a long time.]
As for the title ‘The Ultimate Star’ given to her by GMA, Jennylyn said she’s grateful and humbled but admitted that she’s still not used to it.
“I feel humbled and at the same time, may konting pressure kasi kailangan mong ma-meet yun, e, yung mga expectations ng mga tao (there’s a little bit of pressure because you must meet the expectations of the people).
