Action star Robin Padilla witnessed via a video conference the moment his first child with television host-actress Mariel Rodriguez was born.
In a video he posted on his Facebook page on Tuesday, November 15, Padilla was seen talking with wife Mariel when he suddenly blurted out, “Ayan lumabas na! [it came out already] Allah hu akbar Allah hu akbar !!!” when the baby finally came out.
The actor said their daughter, named Maria Isabella, was born at 7:56 a.m. on November 14, 2016, weighs 7.3 lbs. and 20 inches in length. He said Mariel labored for 21 hours and had a normal delivery in a hospital in Delaware in the United States.
InrterAkyon notes that Padilla, who could not obtain a tourist visa to be with Mariel’s side, thanked his in-laws for being there with his wife. It was Mariel’s father, Abellardo Termulo, who cut the baby’s umbilical cord.
Baby Isabella is Mariel’s first child, while she is Robin’s seventh. The actor had four grown up children with former wife Liezl Sycangco. He also had a child each with actresses Jobelle Salvador and Leah Orosa.
