Singer-songwriter Marion Aunor talked about the song which she wrote for Megastar Sharon Cuneta; saying it was written at the time when the latter was feeling unhappy.
In an article written by Glenn Regondola of PEP, it was disclosed that Marion, the niece of Superstar Nora Aunor wrote the song “Lantern” for Sharon.
“I heard na may pinagdaanan din si Ms. Sharon before…. I really don’t know kung ano but I just wanted na, hayun nga… if she was sad before, I want something na makaka-relate siya. Yeah, I did it para talaga sa kanya,” Marion shared.
Earlier, Sharon admitted that she was going through mid-life crisis. In a lengthy Facebook post, Cuneta even apologized to her fans for letting them down; saying she has begun paying the price for becoming complacent and failing to take care of her career.
Marion shared that the song tells how a person who is really down can rise like a lantern in the sky.
“‘Yung…. gusto mo nang mag-give up talaga, like sobrang down ka pero you will rise like a lantern in the sky,” she stated.
