MANILA, Philippines – Operatives of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has arrested the Filipina who is an alleged accomplice of an Australian pedophile accused of human trafficking, child abuse and child pornography.

Liezyl Margallo, the alleged girlfriend and cohort of Peter Scully, was nabbed in Malapascua, Daanbantayan in Cebu last Wednesday.

Margallo, 23, and Scully, 55, were allegedly behind the brutal pornographic video “Destruction of Daisy” where an 18-month old baby is seen hung upside down, naked and being tortured by a masked woman.

The masked woman in the video has been identified as Margallo. The controversial clip has earned the reputation as the ‘most brutal’ in the world.

Margallo has 16 warrant of arrests pending before the court in Cagayan De Oro City. She is facing various charges including human trafficking, anti-photo and video voyeurism, and the anti-child abuse act.

According to NBI 7 Director Atty. Patricio Bernales Jr., Margallo has been on the run and frequently traveling from province to province around the country to escape the law.

She has been using different aliases like ‘Gina Carpio Batulan’ and ‘Shannon Carpio’; preying on minor victims which she used in filming the videos.

Scully was arrested in February last year and has pleaded not guilty to nearly 75 counts of charges against him which include 8 counts of qualified trafficking in persons committed by a syndicate, 5 counts of syndicated child pornography, 9 counts of child abuse, 5 counts of indecent shows, obscene exhibitions and publications, 4 counts of child pornography under the cybercrime prevention act, 25 counts of photo and video voyeurism and 13 counts of rape.

Since Scully’s arrest, Margallo continued to operate the child pornography ring they established together in 2011. Their international clients were mostly from Europe and US.

The notorious couple were behind the disgusting ‘Daisy’ video which was sold and spread to different parts of the world.

“He forced them to do sexual acts while filming them and he sold it to pedophiles in Brazil, Germany, America and other countries. Margallo was also the one who tortures Daisy on the video,” said an NBI official.

If convicted. Margallo and Scully both face life imprisonment and a fine ranging from P2-M to P5-M. The qualified trafficking offense is also non-bailable.
