MANILA, Philippines – Blogger Mocha Uson has threatened to resign from the Movie and Television Review Classification Board (MTRCB) over some controversial scenes from two ABS-CBN programs recently.

In her video message, Uson, a known supporter of President Rodrigo Duterte, expressed her disappointment over the supposed explicit scenes from ‘Ipaglaban Mo’ and ‘The Better Half’ which were allowed to be shown on national television.

Uson lamented about her intention to introduce ‘positive changes’ in the MTRCB’s current regulation procedures which she said were met with lukewarm, if not negative, responses from fellow board members.

“Kahit ano po ang gawin ko para magkaroon ng pagbabago sa MTRCB at sa mga programang ipinapalabas, wala rin pong mangyayari, mga ka-DDS,” Uson said; referring to her fellow Duterte supporters.

[Whatever I do to make some changes in the MTRCB and on the programs being shown on TV, nothing will happen, my fellow DDS members.]

Then she went on to explain that she is just one among the more than 30 board members, most of whom are supposed to be remnants from the past administration.

“At may mga nakasanayan na po silang ginagawa doon. At may mga iba doon na hindi sang-ayon sa pagbabago,” she continued.

[They have been used to doing things their own way. And there are some who are against these changes.]

She explained further that if she failed to convince other MTRB board members, then it would be better for her to quit his post out of frustrations.

“Mag-reresign na  lang po ako dahil hindi ko po maaatim na tanggapin ang buwis ninyo, ang ibinabayad sa akin na suweldo, tapos hahayaan ko lang po na patuloy ang mga basurang programa na ito na ipinapalabas sa TV network para lang kumita sila. Wala na po akong silbi diyan,” she said.

[I’m going to reisgn because I could not continue receiving your taxes, through my salary, and allow these garbage programs shown by TV networks to earn money.]

Uson was appointed as MTRCB board member last month. Her appointment drew mixed reactions from netizens, mainly because she is a known Duterte online defender and such move is seen by many as sort of political remuneration.
