GMA Network’s forensic investigative show “Case Solved” helped an innocent man regain his freedom, the official website of the Kapuso station disclosed on Friday.

The show has been a part in saving a certain Dondon; a man who was put behind bars – for almost seven years – for a crime that, apparently, he didn’t commit.

According to the host Dingdong Dantes, this is the first time that Case Solved became an instrument to free an innocent.

During his interview with Dondon, the kapuso actor said he saw regret in the eyes of the victim but also see hope for the new life given to him.

The story of Dondon will be fully disclosed on the fourth episode of Case Solved at 2:30PM (PST) on Saturday.

Dantes, meanwhile, praised the team behind the show for their dedication.

He also said that the upcoming episode will show that they actually practice what they preach.

The host admitted, he learned a lot from the program.

“Siguro ‘yun ang pinakamahalaga – na makita natin kung ano ang value nito sa atin bilang viewers, bilang mga ordinaryong mamamayan. Maaaring mangyari ito sa atin kaya kailangan talaga alam natin ang gagawin,” Dantes.

[Perhaps, the most important thing is for us to see its value to our viewers. This could happen in real life, that’s why we need to know what to do.]

He added, it is always wise to be vigilant, to know our rights, to know what to do because we have the right to live peacefully.
