Duterte was on a 6-day Middle East trip from April 10-16. He visited Saudi Arabia, Bahrain before ending it in Qatar and had meetings with Saudi Arabia King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Bahrain King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalafi and Qatar Emir Sheikh Tamim Hamad Al Thani.

During his visit in Qatar, Duterte met members of the Filipino and business community and talked about the programs of his government against corruption, crime and drugs.

“They are not only impressed by the President, they love the President. They love him because he’s a no nonsense guy. They consider us like brothers,” Lopez said in a media interview

“The President’s visit to the Middle East is really part of ‘Dutertenomics’ that aims to create more jobs, attract more investments to the country,” he added.

“These are part of the socioeconomic agenda that will in the end uplift the quality of life of Filipinos.”

The deals will cover construction of retirement villages, tourism, hospitals, and non-agroindustrial zones, and poultry and halal food facilities.
