California, USA – The big basketball news today isn’t about the NBA playoffs. Rather, it’s the launching of Big Baller Brand’s first signature shoe for Lonzo Ball, the ZO2.
After being passed on a sneaker deal by Adidas, Nike and Under Armour, the Balls went ahead with their plans and made their own line of shoe. The result is good looking shoes but comes with a hefty price of $1,195.00.
The ZO2 Prime will cost $495 – $695 (if you wear a size 14 or above) and there’s also an autographed edition for sale for $995-$1,195 (for sizes 14 and above also). It’s a ridiculous price for a basketball shoe, considering most signature shoes sells at $200 and that is for superstars like Lebron James, Kevin Durant and Kobe Bryant. The price of Z02 shoes also tops the brand of the world’s recognized and renowned basketball shoes – The Jordan brand.
Lavar Ball, the father of Lonzo, Lamelo and LiAngelo and founder of Big Ballers Brand have been making headlines for a couple of months for talking big about him and his kids.
He even told media that back in the days he can take Michael Jordan one on one.
Because of the older Ball’s personality, some say he is hurting the draft stock of his son Lonzo Ball, a UCLA basketball player standout and the projected first pick for the incoming NBA draft.
Just a couple of hours after the launch of their own shoe brand, the social media is roasting Big Ballers Brand sneakers already.
After all is said and done, a $500 pair of basketball shoes seems ridiculous!
