Goodbye AlDub Teleserye: ‘Destined to be Yours’ to end this May 26

AlDub’s starrer Destined to be Yours (DTBY) is destined to end next week!

From Eat Bulaga’s extremely popular Kalyeserye, Alden Richards as Alden and Maine Mendoza as Yaya Dub made an unexpected love team that rocked the Twitter World and filled the entire Philippine Arena. May fans aspired to see the two in a soap opera and it was granted. The series, however, is going to end on May 26.

GMA Network announced on their IG account on Monday that DTBY has only 10 days left.

The statement was earlier confirmed by GMA’s senior vice president for TV Entertainment Lilybeth Rasonable, as disclosed by Philippine Entertainment Portal’ saying the show was really written to end in May and was not shortened.

Likewise, they already fixed the schedule for the two to begin shooting for their next movie after the soap.

Fans of DTBY, as per an Inquirer  post, were shocked with the conclusion of the teleserye. Many were saddened, while others rejoiced that the show finally ends; citing its poor story line.

DTBY is AlDub aka MaiDen’s first soap opera together released on February 27th; it was produced by GMA Entertainment TV and is being aired after the hit telefanstasya Encantadia.

The show narrates the story of a community disc-jokey Sinag Obispo (Maine) and a hardworking and charming architect Benjie Rosales (Alden) facing different struggles for love.

The show will be replaced by the Philippine adaptation of the popular Korean TV Series My Love From The Star (MLFTS) which stars Jennylyn Mercado as Steffi Chavez and Gil Cuerva as Matteo Domingo. MLFTS is set to air on May 29.
