Okazaki, Japan – Can we say that good things come in small packages?
Yukiko Hasada isn’t your everyday kitchen chef. She uses regular-sized ingredients bought at her local grocery store, turns them into the teeny-tiny version of gourmet meals and uploads them on her YouTube channel, Bistro Miniature.
From miniature chocolate gateau, cherry and flower cake, omelet rice, donut to itsy bitsy bowls of Japanese ramen, Yukiko is the master of creating miniature meals.
Hasada was inspired to become a mini food chef when she came across a miniature kitchen set.
That was two years ago.
Since then, she has become famous — thanks to the popularity of her instructional cooking videos on YouTube; some of which have surpassed 1.5 million views.
“I mainly get my inspiration from real dishes that I cook for my family,” she told Barcroft TV.
As for her utensils, Yukiko purchases these online, but she is currently thinking about creating her own line of tiny cooking utensils.
The Okazaki-based chef said: “Ingredients are the easier part, except fish and certain vegetables that are not common in Japan such as brussels sprouts and baby onions.
“Rather, it is always more challenging to find mini utensils that go well with the dishes.”
