Remember the Tai Chi master who was pummeled to the ground in less than 10 seconds by a Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter a few weeks ago in China?
He can take consolation now from another ‘martial arts master’ who was beaten to the ground by a boxer in under 7 seconds. At least his embarrassing record has been broken by a contemporary.
Another video circulating on Chinese social media showed a purported martial arts master feted against a boxer.
Unfortunately for the former, his opponent was just too much for him, and the fight was over even before spectators could warm in their seats.
The martial arts master appeared to be up for the challenge, but he fell short of his own expectations.
The boxer threw a flurry of punches; sending his opponent to the floor in less than 7 seconds.
This came a few days after a Chinese tycoon offered $1.4-M (10-M Chinese Yuan) for anyone who can defeat Xu Xiaodong, the MMA fighter who clobbered Tai Chi master Wei Lei in Chengdu, Sichuan province.
The video of the one-sided match has gone viral on the internet and Xu has been criticized heavily for dismissing Chinese martial arts as fake.
Xu’s arrogance notwithstanding, and with another video that seemed to support his claim, critics would just have to wait a little longer to get their wishes, or so it seems.
