Two alleged members of the New People’s Army (NPA) were killed by soldiers in an encounter in Barangay Hilumot, San Jose de Buan in Samar.

According to the 8th Infantry Division of the Philippine Army, a group of rebels attacked their camp early Saturday morning in San Jose de Buan, Samar. The encounter ended with two of the rebels killed. From the soldier’s camp, five of them were reported to have been injured and were taken to a hospital.

The encounter acquired one AK-47 rifle from the NPA rebels, along with a hand-held radio device and other belongings.
