Heads up, Arrow fans!
A preview for an upcoming episode of “American Ninja Warrior” shows Hollywood actor Stephen Amell, whom die-hard fans commonly know as the actor behind a superhero named Arrow, dashing through the show’s famous obstacle course.
The first-ever celebrity edition of American Ninja Warrior — to air on Thursday, May 25 is part of an annual television event by NBC, which raises money and awareness to help children living in poverty in America and around the world.
“For me, the most nerve-racking moment was the very first obstacle,” Amell said in an NBC Q&A. “Ninjas make it look easy… it isn’t!” And from there on, he said, “It’s all adrenaline!”
The crowd cheered wildly as ‘The Arrow’ looked straight at them saying “Hi, guys!”
Other celebrities who joined the fund-raising celebrity edition of American Ninja Warrior were: Erika Christensen (Parenthood), Derek Hough (World of Dance), Today cohost Natalie Morales, Olympic gold medalist Ashton Eaton, comedians Nikki Glaser and Jeff Dye, former Yankees slugger Nick Swisher and actress Mena Suvari.
When asked about his Ninja Warrior experience, Amell said, “When I can accomplish a goal, have a blast and raise money for an awesome cause at the same time? That’s a win right there.”
Do you not watch the TV series Arrow but Amell seem very familiar? Well, remember Casey Jones, that hockey-mask-wearing handsome cop dude in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 movie? Yes that’s him alright.
