American singer Aaron Carter was arrested for driving under the influence (DUI) and possession of marijuana in Hasbersham County, Georgia over the weekend.
Habersham County Sheriff’s Office charged the 29-year-old singer with DUI, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and possession of drug-related objects, as per the Daily Mail. Carter was reportedly pulled over for driving erratically.
Carter, who is the younger brother of Backstreet Boys’ Nick Carter, was also charged with “obstruction of law enforcement officers” for refusing to take a breathalyser test on the scene. His girlfriend, Madison Parker, who was with him at the time, was also arrested and charged with the same offenses.
Just a few hours before the arrest, Carter’s management team have announced on the singer’s Twitter account the cancellation of his concert in Kansas on Saturday evening due to “transport issues.”
The tweet read: “Due to transportation issues, Aaron will not make his set time tonight in Kansas City. He promises to come back soon.“He apologizes to his fans in KC and Mix93.3.”
