- GMA Network to revive All Star K as All Star Videoke
- Solenn Heusaff and Betong Sumaya confirmed as new hosts of All Star Videoke
- Fans expressed their excitement about the restoration of the show
The Kapuso channel will revive one of its most successful game shows, All Star K, via a new show All Star Videoke —to be hosted by Solenn Heussaff and Betong Sumaya.
According to GMA News, aside from the players showcasing their ability in singing, their memory to remember the lyrics will be tested as well.
There will be new celebrity picked K-lers to bring fun and excitement every week.
On the FB page of Kapuso League, this was posted: CONFIRMED: Tuloy na tuloy na ang pagbabalik ng ALL STAR K! Ngayon ay #AllStarVideoke hosted by Betong Sumaya and Solenn Heusaff! Unofficial air date this August!
In the FB Page Kapuso Legion, fans expressed their enthusiasm over the restoration of the successful show but some are not in agreement that Betong deserves the position as one of the hosts. They recommend Ryan Agoncillo to take his place him or to bring back the original host Allan K.
“Parang ang lakas ata ni betong sa gma ah, daming show. Pero honestly, di ko xa bet sa show na to. Allan K p ako.” [Looks like Betong has a strong hold with GMA ah, many shows. But honestly, he’s not my bet. I prefer Allan K.]
“Ryan please.. ‘di ko bet si betong.” [Ryan please, I don’t like Betong.]
All Star K! according to Wikipedia, was originally launched as K! The 1 Million Peso Videoke Challenge which got critical acclaim from the viewers for being a one-of-a-kind game show that was culturally relevant to the audiences.
The show was reformatted in 2004 as All Star K!, and Arnel Ignacio first hosted it but was subsequently replaced by Jaya and Allan K. It lasted for more than seven years; from January 13, 2002, to October 18, 2009.
What do you think about the revival of All Star K!? Will it again receive a warm welcome from the Filipino viewers?
