American rap artist 2 Chainz is being hailed in Atlanta for transforming his Pink Trap House from a tourist destination to a center for health and education.

This past weekend the Atlanta rapper transformed his ‘Trap House’ into a free HIV testing center.

In America, Trap house refers to a ‘drug den‘ or a ‘crack house‘.

According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, the lanky wordsmith opened his “trap house” for free HIV testing from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. this past Fourth of July. The temporary HIV clinic, which was sponsored by the Fulton County Board of Health, Atlanta AIDS and Test Atlanta, also included games, education packets and giveaways.

2 Chainz also posted a flyer on his Instagram account a flyer of his good deed writing, “Come get tested and know your status! By the way this is Free99.”

“Inside the ‘pink traphouse’ something seldom shown, art, kids, music, good vibes, inspiration etc. The word trap is and was associated with a negative connotation,” 2 Chainz added on social media.

For weeks, the Pink Trap House has been garnering national attention as fans from across the country have lined up in droves just to snap pictures there. It has been dubbed as the “first hip-hop monument of Atlanta.”
