“Babaguhin ko na pangalan ni General Bato, lalagyan ko na ng ‘Gan’ para ‘Batogan,’” Senator Richard ‘Dick’ Gordon said. [I will change the name of General Bato, I would suffix ‘gan’ to make it batogan (lazy)].

An irritated Richard Gordon called out Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Ronald ‘Bato’ Dela Rosa for failing to address the riding-in-tandem killings in the country.

Gordon said in an interview on Thursday: “General Bato, fix the killings of people riding on motorcycles. Alagad kayo ng batas, ayusin n’yo ang batas hindi ang kabaro n’yo.” [You are an enforcer of the law, reinforce it, not your comrades].

Gordon was calling out on General ‘Bato’ for allowing the reinstatement of Supt. Marvin Marcos and 18 other cops involved in the killing of Albuera, Leyte Mayor Rolando Espinosa Sr.

Gordon said Bato should have told President Duterte that it would be detrimental to the police force if Marvin Marcos would be brought back to service.

And if the killings shall continue, Gordon said he would call the PNP chief, who earned the monicker “Bato” for his tough image, by the name “Bato-gan” [lazy], as reported by The Inquirer.

The killing of a provincial health officer in Cavite, who was gunned down last Tuesday by motorcycle-riding men, was also raised by the senator.

“Ang daming namamatay wala silang ginagawa. They will serve the President and this country better if they do their job,” Gordon said. [A lot of people are getting killed and they do nothing.]
