Winter is here! Well, not literally, but the phrase is currently trending, especially to Game of Thrones (GOT) fans who were shocked by the appearance of british singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran in the show’s season-premiere.
First of all, we would like to apologize for the ‘spoiler’ but we promise that aside from Sheeran’s appearance, we will disclose nothing else about the episode.
Ed Sheeran appeared in a hilariously random cameo, singing a folksy tune. He plays a soldier from King’s Landing, (most probably from the Lannister clan due to his armor) as part of a small group in transit in the woods.
The lyrics are from a song that appears in George R.R. Martin’s source material, the Song of Ice and Fire books: “For hands of gold are always cold, but a woman’s hands are warm.”
While venturing in the woods, ‘the girl that has no name’ (Arya Stark) is attracted by the sound of the song and ends up sharing a meal and some homemade blackberry wine with the friendly Lannister soldiers, including the character of Ed Sheeran.
We would like to tell you more, but it’s a lot better if you watch the episode before spoilers could get you as you scroll along social media sites this day. The question lies: Shall we see Ed Sheeran on the next episode? Or ‘the girl that has no name’ would kill all the friendly soldiers?
