• Chief Inspector Espenido claimed detained vice mayor Nova Parojinog offered her body to him as bribe
• Aside from sexual favors, he said he was also offered cash and cars so he would go easy against criminality in Ozamiz City
• Espenido said he would have accepted the bribes if he was an immoral person

As soon as he arrived in Ozamiz City for his new assignment as its police chief in December last year, Chief Inspector Jovie Espenido said the Parojinogs tried to bribe him with cash, cars and even sexual favors so that he may go easy against criminality in the city, especially illegal drug trade.

As per GMA News, Espenido claimed detained vice mayor Nova Parojinog-Echavez offered herself to him in exchange for not disrupting the family’s narcotics trade.

“I was so amused that she would use her body to get what she wanted,” Espenido said; adding that if he was an immoral man, he would have readily accepted everything offered to him by the Parojinog family.

He said it was only in Ozamiz City that he experienced being bribed.

“I’m telling you, I only experienced bribery here. Maybe it was the same reason why the past police chiefs haven’t performed well because of the (Parojnog family’s) practice,” the police chief said in an earlier interview.
