Clarice Patrimonio had to settle for silver after facing a tough Thai competitor Saturday in the 29th Southeast Asian Games tennis women’s singles competition.

Luksika Khumkhum of Thailand who has an Asian Games gold under her belt dominated 6-0, 6-1, as the FIlipina did her best to find a way to score.

Philippine Tennis team, thus, failed to win a gold in the SEA Games but will proudly go home with two silvers and two bronzes.

Anna Clarice Patrimonio (born 25 November 1993 in Manila) is the third child of Purefoods TJ Hotdogs’ basketball superstar Alvin Patrimonio and Cindy Conwi; with her older brother Angelo and younger sibling Asher. Anna Clarice’s older sister, epic film ‘Gabriela‘ lead actress and PBB housemate Tin Patrimonio is also a tennis player.

She started playing tennis at the age of 8. “Clarice is a player who only comes once every 20 to 30 years,” says tennis coach Karl Santamaria in an interview with The Inquirer, who has been her personal mentor since she picked up her first racket at 8.

This is not the first time Clarice brought medals for the country. She won two medals at the 2011 Southeast Asian Games, held in Palembang in Indonesia.
