Police in Danvers, Massachusetts found nothing funny about a baby being put inside a refrigerator.
The mother of the infant, who wanted to take a shower, asked her niece and her friend to keep watch over her 7-month-old baby .
The two teenagers agreed, but as the mother took a shower, the baby began to scream and cry.
The two teenagers thought it would be fun to lock up the baby in the fridge to calm her down, and filmed themselves doing it.
The video, broadcasted on Snapchat, did not say how long the baby stayed in the fridge. Fortunately, the baby was not injured.
The mother of the infant, obviously shocked by this incident, thinks that her niece wouldn’t want to hurt her baby though.
“I was horrified. I was in shock. I’m traumatized from that. I don’t want anyone near my child anymore,” she reportedly said, adding that: “I know she wouldn’t hurt my daughter and that wasn’t her intentions. I think it was all foolishness, stupidity,” the mother added.
The two babysitters have been arrested and were charge with assault and child endangerment. They will be tried in a juvenile court.
