- Senator Risa Hontiveros visited Kian delos Santos’ wake
- Kian was killed during an anti-drug operation in Caloocan City
- Hontiveros vowed to give full protection to the boy’s family and to the witnesses
Senator Risa Hontiveros visited the wake of Kian de los Santos, the 17-year-old student who was shot dead during an anti-drug operation in Caloocan City, and vowed to help his family in their pursuit of justice.
In her statement, the lady senator said she will “accord full protection and security to the family and to the witnesses, to provide whatever legal service is needed.”
Police claimed Kian ran after seeing the police officers conducting anti-illegal drug operation, pulled out a gun and shot it out with the officers. Witnesses, however, have different account on what really happened. They said the boy was not armed and begged for his life.
Three policemen involved in Kian’s killing have been relieved of their duties and an investigation has been launched.
As per GMA, Hontiveros, who also called for an independent and impartial investigation into the boy’s killing, vowed to unearth the truth, fight for justice for Kian and for those whose lives were abruptly ended by this abusive and corrupt war-on-drugs.
