Two boys were locked in a supermarket in East Kilbride, Scotland, and started to ransack food and alcoholic beverages throughout the night.

The boys, aged 12 and 13, allegedly hid themselves in the clothes department while waiting for the store to close at 10 pm, according to “The Daily Record“.

Once they were alone, they took advantage of the opportunity and the pair helped themselves to $400 worth of food and booze as they roamed the aisles before being discovered at 2am.

It was not until the wee hours of the morning that they were discovered by night service employees who called the police.

“The parents were contacted and came to fetch the children, who are safe and sound. Three items were declared stolen. An investigation is underway,” a local police spokesman said; adding that a camera and two memory cards have disappeared from the store.

Following the incident, the Sainsbury’s Kingsgate supermarket announced that it would strengthen its security for such an incident to not happen again.
