We’ve all had that annoying swollen red bump on the face that we become so tempted to pop every time it appears even though we know the result isn’t going to be good. It is just so tempting, isn’t it?
Well, this woman is going to make you think twice before you pop that pimple on your face.
Katie Wright, 21, just thought it was a normal red spot like a pimple on her forehead which didn’t have a head; just a swollen bump near her brow so she tried to squeeze it which turned out t0o be a very big mistake. It didn’t inflate like what normally happens when you pop one. Rather, it started spreading and soon enough her whole face was red and swollen. She tried putting ice or going to sleep but it didn’t do anything to resolve her problem.
“Within an hour my entire face swelled up and hurt. It felt like something was going to burst out of my skin. My face grew hot and swollen, then disfigured very quickly, with an oozing open wound that kept getting bigger,” Katie said.
She immediately sought medical help after trying everything else with no luck and it turns out she got infected with a serious case of cellulitis; a bacterial infection of the skin and the tissues beneath. It could have affected her brain or caused her to go blind since it was spreading pretty fast.
The doctors quickly gave her the needed medication and she is thankfully starting to heal now. However, she decided to let her situation be a lesson of caution for other people. Hence, she posted it on her social media accounts — and she went viral.
She believes what caused the infection was her eyebrow pencil brush considering the position of the bump. She said she regularly washes her make up brush but neglected to do the same on her spooly so she set out a stern warning for people to always have clean brush set.
“It’s a small thing to do to avoid a painful, expensive, and traumatizing infection on your face.”
Hopefully this will teach a lesson to people who are too lazy to clean their brushes or people who can’t resist the temptation to pop that pimple.
