A pizza shop worker suddenly attacked a woman who was on a night out with friends at Unit 7 club in Basildon Essex and even used her stiletto to stab her in the eye only to find out she was the wrong target.
Sophie Roberts, 20, was buying a bottle of water while waiting for her friends to leave at around 3am last September 18 2016 when seemingly out of nowhere, she was struck with something in her left eye and blood wouldn’t stop streaming down her face. She was worried she’d never get her vision back.
The suspect, identified as Natalie Jeffery, denied inflicting grievous bodily harm but admitted a charge of unlawful wounding. According to the court, Jeffery only attacked in retaliation for having her glasses knocked off her face but unfortunately she mistakenly goes off on the wrong girl.
Jeffery was first arrested on October 7 and after a couple of court hearings, she was finally sentenced with 14-month suspended prison term last Tuesday with the term suspended for 18 months at Basildon Crown Court. In addition, she needs to complete 200 hours of unpaid work, given a curfew for six months, and has been issued a ban from nightclubs and public houses for nine months and ordered to pay a total of £1,250 to the victim for compensation.
