MANILA, Philippines – Bull***t.

Ex-Customs Commissioner Nicanor Faeldon and Sen. Panfilo “Ping” Lacson had this to say to each other after against locking horns on the ‘tara’ system reportedly thriving inside the Bureau of Customs (BOC).

According to Faeldon, Lacson’s allegations that he himself was on the take was false and a load of bull.

“I’ve never denied that there is tara, I believe there is but saying that I’m part of it, that’s really bull***t. That’s really a lie,” the Philippine Daily Inquirer quoted him as saying.

Stressing he too wanted the system of bribery to stop, Faeldon then dared Lacson to prove he was indeed corrupt as he alleged.

“I really want those tara to stop. I really want to investigate those people who are really involved in that tara but when you say that I’m part of that tara, I’ll tell you right in your face, wherever you are that you are a liar and you have the rest of your life to prove that I’m involved in tara,” he said.

For his part, Lacson also called bull on Faeldon’s claim he is innocent.

“Eh bull***t din sya. Siya nga ‘yung nasa sentro ng tara eh [He’s also bull***t. He’s the one at the center of the tara system],” he said.

The senator, who has indicated his intent to file graft and rice smuggling charges against Faeldon, also vowed to answer the latter’s challenge of bringing up evidence against him.

“I’m really obsessed to pin him down and really prove there’s corruption in the Customs and he’s involved in the corruption,” he said.
