Reports that former senator Jinggoy Estrada would be granted bail by the Sandiganbayan has left former senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla, Jr. speechless, but nevertheless happy for the former, who, like him, was charged with plunder in connection with the pork barrel scam.
According to the Inquirer, the former senator from Cavite was interviewed at the Sandiganbayan right after a hearing on his plunder case. Revilla expressed sadness that his former colleague in the Senate would soon be leaving him behind at the Philippine National Police Custodial Center.
“Speechless. Pero siyempre, I’m happy for him,” Revilla said.
Asked if Estrada has started packing his things, Revilla answered in the affirmative.
“Nakakalungot lang na iiwan na ako ni Senator Jinggoy eh. Medyo nagbabalot. Medyo nagbabalot-balot na,” Revilla said.
[It’s just sad that Senator Jinggoy is leaving me. He has started packing]
Revilla said his lawyers are studying the possibility of filing a second bail petition, just like what Estrada’s camp did.
