MANILA, Philippines  –  The Philippine consul in Los Angeles is on the hunt for the Filipino transsexual who lewdly danced to the Lupang Hinirang following an outcry of complaints over her act.

According to News5, it was the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) that requested the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) to have Maria Sophia Love’s passport cancelled to compel her to return to the Philippines and face charges for disrespecting the national anthem.

NHCP Executive Ludovico Badoy have written to Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano requesting assistance in tracking down love.

“This refers to the Facebook video of a transsexual person playing the Philippine national anthem while dancing and holding her crotch, which is as clear violation of the Flag and Heraldic Code of the Philippines (R.A. 8491). Her profile indicates that the person in the video lives in Los Angeles, California and uses the name, Maria Sophia Love, which presumably is an alias,” he wrote. “May we request your assistance in determining the real identity and possible cancellation of the passport of the person in the video? Thank you.”

For his part, Teddy Atienza, the NHCP’s Heraldry Section chief, said Love may also be blacklisted from entering the country if she is found to have changed her citizenship.

“Kung Pilipino siya, maaari kanselahin po passport niya, at kung siya naman po ay ibang citizenship niya, maaaring mai-ban ho natin sa tanggapan ng Immigration,” he said.

[If she’s a Filipino, her passport can be cancelled, and if she has changed her citizenship, we can have her banned by Immigration.]
