Former “Miss Q and A” contestant is seeking financial support from the public after a terrible road accident which caused her right leg to be amputated.

On August 16, Jennifer Collins —or Jayson Jiz de Ortega in real life— joined “Miss Q and A”, and won in the daily rounds. The pageant is a segment show on “It’s Showtime” where gays and transgender women compete for the crown by answering the questions the best way they can.

The following day, however, she lost to Matrica Mae Matmat Centino who became the second hall of famer of the segment.

On a Facebook post on Monday, September 4, friend Jam Arenas shared the tragic incident that happened to the “Miss Q and A” contestant.

Collins was in a tricycle when out of nowhere a jeepney suddenly crashed directly onto them. The impact was severe leaving her in critical condition. She had to undergo operation. Unfortunately, her right leg had to be amputated.

[She recently met an accident, the tricycle she was riding in was hit by a fast moving jeepney, with a drunk and alleged drug intoxicated driver. She almost died and doctors had to amputate her right leg while the left leg was cemented. Still grateful to the Lord though as she was given another chance to live.]

Arenas also said that being the breadwinner of the family, Collins grabs every opportunity and takes several job offers in order to provide for the family. She became a real-estate agent, make-up artist, choreographer, costume-maker, and joined beauty pageants.

[She works hard for the whole family, and because of the accident, she might have a hard time now. She’s a good child, sibling, and friend.]

Collins is currently confined at the Philippine General Hospital (PGH); recovering from the tragic accident.

For those who would like to extend help for Collins, kindly contact her sister, Jessica S. Jiz De Ortega ( ALesana Kai ) at 09357181641.
