Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson finally gave a statement after netizens criticized her for performing at a casino. As a government official, she is banned to enter any casinos by Presidential Decree Np. 1067-B (series of 1977), as amended bu PD No. 1869 (series of 1983), as noted by GMA News.

Mocha gave a clear and definite statement to all her bashers and doubters that she isn’t hiding anything and isn’t stealing from the government. “Wala po akong itinatago sa inyo, hindi po ako nagnanakaw sa gobyerno,” she was quoted saying by Abante Tonite in a radio interview. [I don’t hide anything from you, I don’t steal from the government.]

She asked for understanding on why she can’t give up performing for her girl group, Mocha Girls: “Sa aking parte naman po humihingi po ako ng pag-unawa sa inyo kung hindi ko po muna mai-give up ‘yung pagpe-perform ko o ‘yung aking grupo na Mocha Girls dahil breadwinner po sila ng kanilang mga pamilya.” She admits that she needs to help the other girls earn.

Mocha assures the public she’s isn’t doing anything conspicuous or illegal and she has always been transparent with anything she does. But she knows that her bashers won’t stop, so she leaves them with a short message, “Go ahead…enjoy.”
