The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) have extended the deadline for overseas-born Filipino players wishing to join the 2017 rookie draft on October 29.
PBA deputy commissioner for basketball operations Rickie Santos announced on Thursday that Fil-foreign aspirants have until Monday (September 4) to submit their applications and requirements at the league’s headquarters in Libis, Quezon City.
The PBA Commissioner’s Office initially set a Friday deadline but has moved the date because Friday falls on a holiday.
Meanwhile, local-born applicants have until October 12 to apply.
There will be a month-long period to contest a candidate’s eligibility after the preliminary list of Fil-foreign applicants is released.
From October 23 to 25, all applicants are required to take part in the PBA Draft Combine, and on October 27, the final list of candidates for the Rookie Draft will be announced.
The rookie draft will take place at the Robinsons Place Manila in Ermita on October 29, 2017.
