A Presidential Security Group (PSG) officer has been found dead after a shooting incident in the PSG compound inside Malacañang Park where the Bahay Pagbabago, the official residence of President Rodrigo Duterte, is located.
As mentioned in a GMA story dated September 26, 2017, PSG Commander Brigadier General Lope Dagoy identified the officer as Major Harim Gonzaga.
Dagoy said Major Gonzaga was found dead inside his room at the PSG compound by his own wife around 7 a.m. on Tuesday, September 26. The 37-year-old officer sustained a gunshot wound to his chest.
Gonzaga, a member of the PSG’s operation section, was promoted from the rank of Captain just last year, Dagoy added.
No foul play was found and no other person was involved in the shooting incident as per reports. The investigators are trying to determine if Major Gonzaga took his own life or if it was a case of accidental firing.
