- UP remains to be the only Philippine institution in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings
- It is at 601-800 bracket of the recently released rankings
- The list is topped by the University of Oxford
The University of the Philippines (UP) remains to be part of the roster of the best universities of the world.
In the Times Higher Education ((THE) World University Rankings released September 6, the premiere state university of the Philippines now belongs to the 601-800 bracket up from the >800 bracket last year.
Rappler said in its story that UP is the only university from the Philippines to make it to the rankings.
In July, UP was also part of the Asia-Pacific University rankings of THE where it belonged to the 200+ bracket.
Meanwhile, another Asian university, the National University of Singapore, maintains its top ranking at 22nd place. It is tied with the University of Toronto.
Other top-ranking Asian institutions is the Peking University and Tsinghua Universities, who got into the top 30.
The list was lead by the University of Oxford, followed by the University of Cambridge. The California Institute of Technology tailed at the third spot. Stanford University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology at fourth and fifth spots, respectively.
