- The military said there are more or less 10 terrorists still hiding in Marawi City
- There are also two foreign terrorist in the city
- AFP spokesman Brig. Gen. Padilla said the terrorists are now cornered
More or less 10 ISIS-linked local terrorists and two foreign fighters are still holed up in Marawi City, according to the spokesman of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
As per a GMA News story, Brig. Gen. Restituto Padilla said there are two foreign terrorists in Marawi. One is Malaysian Amin Baco and the other is an unidentified Indonesian fighter.
“Si Baco po ang hinahanap natin pero hindi na ito factor dahil wala na silang impluwensiya sa kabuuan ng mga nangyayari diyan, cornered na po kasi sila. So, si Baco po ang isa doon at sa impormasyong aming nakuha, mga dalawa pang dayuhang terorista ang naiiwan doon sa kabuuang grupo,” Padilla said.
[We’re searching for Baco, but he is no longer a factor because he no longer have influence in what’s happening there. They are already cornered. As per the information we received, Baco is one of the two foreign terrorists still with the group.]
As for the local terrorists, Padilla said they cannot give their exact numbers because rescued hostages give different accounts, but their estimate was more or less 10 Maute Group members are still there.
