Kapuso comedienne Chariz Solomon admitted she almost left GMA 7 because of her “frustrations” before.
The actress almost grabbed an offer from rival network, saying: “Actually nung una gusto ko na i-grab.” [Actually, at first I already wanted to grab it.]
In a recent interview with GMA, Chariz narrated why the thought of moving to another network ever crossed her mind.
“Kasi nun hindi pa ako part ng Bubble Gang, I think nag-guest pa lang ako sa Pepito Manaloto. [That was because, before, I was not yet part of Bubble Gang. I think I was only a guest on Pepito Manaloto.]
“Tapos sobra akong frustrated that time kasi nandun ako sa ‘Parang, in heat ba ako?'” [And then I was so frustrated that time because I was at a point where I asked, “Am I in heat?”]
“Yun yung time na wala pa akong baby so naka-focus lang talaga ako sa career ko and my husband naman understands very well na this is my priority kasi habang wala pa kaming baby, talagang rumaratrat ako.” [That was the time when I haven’t had my baby yet so I was really focused on my career and my husband understands it very well that this is my priority because since we still had no baby, I would really work double time.]
Chariz decided not to disclose which network gave her the offer but she relayed she was offered to do two shows with that network, had she grabbed the opportunity.
She continued: “And I am dreaming big that time parang gusto ko talaga something big for myself.” [And I was dreaming big that time, it’s like I really wanted something big for myself.]
She said she wanted to do challenging roles and they offered her two shows. But during that time, it was not the network itself that made the offer to her but somebody from the network. They were studying Chariz’s contract then, she added.
Despite this, Chariz stayed with the network that gave her a big break in showbiz through the reality search StarStruck back in 2006.
When asked why she decided to stay as a Kapuso, the comedienne revealed it had to do with the gag show Bubble Gang. She also eventually became part of the Book Two of Pepito Manaloto, so she had more reasons to stay.
The comedienne emphasized that based from experience of friends and other people’s testimony, her experience with GMA is still the best one yet. “Parang iba din talaga… dito [sa Kapuso network] may mas puso pa din ganun, lalo na ‘yung mga shows ko. [It’s still different here… there is heart, especially my shows.]
Laslt, the comedienne shared how blessed she is with inexplicable joy and that she values being a part of the shows Bubble Gang and Pepito Manaloto, which she said nothing could replace.
