Vincent Quilet, popularly known as Vincent Daffalong, passed away on Thursday evening.

His daughter ‘China’ took to social media how proud she is of her dad’s achievements as well as how much she will miss their “jammings.” In one of her Facebook posts, it was mentioned that fans and friends have started arriving at Vincent’s wake at the Immaculate Conception motuary at Balayan, Batangas.

According to GMA News, his siblings Belen Quilet Belino and Teresita Quilet Aquino said that ‘heart complications’ was the cause of death.

Vincent was  blessed with a talent for songwriting. He persevered sending his compositions to recording companies until he was rewarded and considered as one of the pioneers of Pinoy Rap.

Mahiwagang Nunal, Ispraken Delight and Machoching are just a few of the songs he popularized.

Given the shape of his nose, Vincent Quilet was eventually called Vincent Daffalong; a term coined from the Pinoy phrase “dapa ang ilong” (flat-nosed) which he also used as screen name in comedy movies.

“Palpak Connection,” “Batangueno Kabitenyo,” and “Matinik na Bading, Mga Syuking Buking” are some of the movies he starred in.
