First Wife vs First Lady?
The word war between the two started after Ivana Trump, the first wife of US President Donald Trump, seemingly sought to take credit for Donald Trump’s strengths.
Appearing on ABC’s “Good Morning America” on Monday, she said she still has a “direct number” to her ex-husband and she speaks to him at least once every two weeks.
“I don’t want to call him there because Melania is there and I don’t want to cause any kind of jealousy or something like that because I’m basically first Trump wife. I’m first lady, OK?” she said with a laugh.
However, despite the first wife saying that in jest, Melania Trump reacted thereafter that she may be the latest President’s third wife but she certainly is the only “first lady.”
Spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham said in a statement on Melania’s behalf that “There is clearly no substance to this statement from an ex, this is unfortunately only attention-seeking and self-serving noise”; hinting at sensitive relations among women who’ve been married to the president.
Ivana Trump, 68, is the mother of Donald Trump’s first three children: Donald Jr, Ivanka and Eric.
