“This is a historic matchup that will be talked about for years,” said one of the fighters of the upcoming “open weight” mixed martial arts match dubbed as “David vs. Goliath”.

The event by ONE Championship titled Hero’s Dream will feature five rounds of an “open weight” fight between ONE middleweight champion Aung La N Sang of Myanmar and heavyweight Muay Thai striker Alain Ngalani of Cameroon on November 3 at Thuwunna Indoor Stadium in Myanmar.

“I am thrilled to announce that ONE middleweight world champion Aung La N Sang will face muay thai heavyweight world champion Alain Ngalani in a five-round open weight contest,” ONE founder and CEO Chatri Sityodtong said.
Sityodtong dubbed the fight as a “David versus Goliath” match.

N Sang’s title will not be on the line.

N Sang typically fights at 185 pounds, while his bigger opponent, Ngalani fights at 227.

“As world champion, I will always be proud to represent my home country, and I gladly accept the responsibility of inspiring my countrymen with my time inside the cage . . . Alain Ngalani will be the biggest opponent I have ever competed against, and it is a challenge that I am really excited to take on,” said N Sang.

“Everyone craves success in many forms, and for me, to be part of history is part of my goals. This is a historic matchup that will be talked about for years,” Ngalani said.

Fighting style

N Sang earned the moniker the “Burmese Python” because of his constricting style on the canvass.

Ngalani, on the other hand, is known for his devastating strikes and hulking figure. He is a heavyweight world champion in muay thai and kickboxing.
