After the tremendous success of Pokémon Go, Niantic Labs is developing a new game that will entice Harry Potter fans again to play in a augmented reality game entitled Harry Potter: Wizards Unite.

The creator behind Pokémon GO says this new adventure will offer players the chance to learn how to cast spells, uncover mysterious magic artifacts, meet famous characters created by JK Rowling and cross the path of legendary creatures.

“In Niantic, we want to use technology to [help people] discover the wonderful and often magical world around them,” said John Hanke, founder and CEO of Niantic, in a statement.

“Harry Potter’s stories have been fueling the imagination of the world for over 20 years, and we’ll soon be allowing fans of the show and their friends to become true wizards. “

On his official blog, the Niantic studio writes that it plans to create new technologies and invent new game mechanics for this adventure.

Harry Potter: Wizards Unite will be released under Warner Bros.’ Portkey Games brand, a new games label “dedicated to creating video game and mobile experiences inspired by J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World.”

The release date of the game has not been specified, but the studio intends to unveil more details in 2018.
