PNP: At least 58 cops recommended for dismissal mostly due to cases of extortion and kidnapping

The Philippine National Police – Internal Affairs Service are firm that they will not tolerate any illegal activities done by their men.

Internal Affairs Service Inspector General Alfegar Triambulo told GMA they are recommending at least 58 cops to be dismissed from service.

Triambulo said they are waiting for the approval of Philippine National Police Director General Ronald dela Rosa.

He further noted that the recommended police men were involved in illegal activities. Most of their cases are extortion and kidnapping.

He said, “Majority ng respondents na pulis ay assigned sa NPD.” [Northern Police District]

Included in the list are the two Caloocan police, Police Officer 1 Jeffrey Perez and Police Officer 1 Ricky Arquilita who were involved in the killing of minor Carl Angelo Arnaiz. Their commander Chief Inspector Fortunato Ecle Jr. was recommended for demotion.

The 15 Caloocan cops who were caught on CCTV breaking and entering without a warrant the residence of an old lady were charged and recommended also for dismissal.

The commander of Caloocan City’s PCP 4, Chief Inspector Timothy Aniway Jr. was charged with less grave neglect of duty.
