Pres. Duterte pleads with SoKor’s leader to invest more in the Philippines

With the ASEAN Summit being held in the country, President Rodrigo Duterte was given several opportunities to mingle with different world leaders.

One of the participating leaders in the summit is South Korean President Moon Jae-In.

With this, Pres. Duterte grabbed the opportunity to have a dialogue with the South Korean President regarding economic matters.

On Monday, he had a meeting with President Moon Jae-in. In their discussion, Pres. Digong encouraged his South Korean counterpart to motivate South Korean businessmen to make huge investments in the Philippines.

It is noteworthy to mention that S. Korea’s economic growth in decades is highly commendable. According to Forbes, S. Korea is among the top countries for business.

He suggested that S. Korea can invest in major industries including manufacturing, automotive, food production, processing, agribusiness, electronics and energy.

Pres. Duterte also expressed his gratitude toward South Korea for importing Philippine products such as food, garments, chemicals and electronic parts.

Moon reaffirmed Pres. Duterte when he said he wanted to further enhance S. Korea-ASEAN relations. He specifically mentioned too that he wanted to strengthen the ties between S. Korea and the Philippines since the latter has been his country’s long-time friend.

On the other hand, the S. Korean President also urges more Filipinos to visit Korea specifically when it hosts the PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games in February next year.
