Grieving television host Vice Ganda has dedicated his most recent award to Hashtags member Franco Hernandez, who died a day before the 31st Star Awards For Television.
On Instagram, Vice Ganda shared a video during the awards night; where Hashtags CK Kieron, Jimboy Martin, Wilbert Ross, and Kid Yambao accepted the popular host’s Best Male TV Host award as he was in New Zealand to attend the wedding of actress Anne Curtis.
“My heart continues to break. This is just so painful. I dedicate my award to you, my baby brother Franco,” he expressed.
The video showed how emotional Kieron even stopped in the middle of his speech as he tried to hold back his tears.
“Itong trophy na ito ay gustong ialay ni Ate Vice sa brother namin, ang co-Hashtag namin na si… [Ate Vice wants to dedicate this trophy to our brother, our co-Hashtag…]” He stopped talking before he could even say the late celebrity’s name.
“…si Franco Hernandez. And, bro, we know that you are watching over us and you will now be our angel. We love you, bro. Para sa iyo ito,” he eventually went on.

Hernandez, whose full name is Franco Miguel Hernandez Lumanlan, joined Hashtags last February, and was introduced as the “Hataw Heartthrob” among the new members.
Hernandez was on a boat with his girlfriend, Hashtags member Tom Doromal, and two others in North Lamidan, Don Marcelino in Davao Occidental, when big waves hit their boat.
He and his girlfriend reportedly fell into the water. The boat driver and crew tried to save them but he was already unconscious when he was rescued. He was brought to a clinic in Malita but he was declared dead on arrival.
