NLEX Road Warriors rookie player Kiefer Ravena makes his presence felt on his PBA debut.
Ravena, the second-generation cager, led the Road Warriors to beat KIA Picanto flirting with a triple-double.
Ravena, son of former PBA Rookie of the Year and Most Improved Player Bong Ravena, finished with 18 points, 12 assists, 7 rebounds and two steals, enough for him to receive praises from coach Yeng Guiao.
“I had no doubt he can make an impact and lead the team as I was hoping. That’s exactly what he did in this game. He’s going to be special,” said Guiao of the former Ateneo hotshot.
“He’s exactly what we’re looking for and what the doctor ordered for us,” he added.
Meanwhile, Kevin Alas also contributed with 14 points, Alex Mallari added 13, JR Quiñahan, Larry Fonacier and Rabeh Al-Hussaini chipped in with 12 a piece.
Ravena, however, simply downplayed his coach’s praise.
“There’s nothing special about it. ‘Yung mga sinabi niya ngayon, it’s water under the bridge. We have to focus on the next game and focus on the things we have to do to improve even more,” Ravena said via ABS-CBN Sports.
