Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire is set for a boxing match against Irishman Carl “The Jackal” Frampton in April 2018.
According to an article by Sky Sports, Donaire will square off with Frampton on April 7 in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Among the major titles held by Donaire include:

- WBC bantamweight champion (118 lbs)
- WBO bantamweight champion
- WBO super bantamweight champion (122 lbs) (2×)
- IBF super bantamweight champion
- WBA (Super) featherweight champion (126 lbs)
Donaire has been wanting to get a fight against Frampton. He hopes that a victory over a former world champion like Frampton would catapult him back to a world title contention.
Donaire sent a message to Frampton in a tweet, he wrote: “Heard our teams have been talking. Cldn’t (couldn’t) make this fight b4 bt (before but) now no obstacles stand in the way. Greatest respect 4 u (for you) as a fighter. C U (see you) in the ring wherever U want the fight 2b (to be)”.
