Filipino rap metal / metalcore band Slapshock has launched its ninth album “Atake” on Wednesday; just in time for their 20th anniversary.
The band also performed the first two videos of the first two singles off the album, “Luha” and the title track “Atake” during the said launch.
The title of the album says something about their collective mindset which is just keep going forward.
According to lead vocals Jamir Garcia, they got even “louder and aggressive” instead of slowign down as they age.
The new album which features 10 tracks, nine of which are in Tagalog, is their first since the 2014 extended play album “Night Owls,” which tracks were all in English.
Slapshock concluded its 20-city tour for its 20th anniversary.
They also performed in Malaysia, Dubai, Borneo, and the U.S. this year.
In 2018, they are slated to tour Australia.

Slapshock is a Filipino heavy metal band. They were formed in 1997, originally as a rap metal act, with their early musical style compared to that of Korn. They have since shifted towards a metalcore style.
Their timeless hits include Anino Mo, Sigaw, Agent Orange, Cariño Brutal et. al.
