MANILA, Philippines – After terminating peace talks with them, President Rodrigo blasted the armed wing of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) for allegedly committing sexual abuses against women in the hinterlands.

During his speech at the 7th Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual,Transgender (LGBT) party in Davao City, Duterte accused members of the New People’s Army (NPA) of raping and stealing women away from their families.

“I do not want to talk to the communists anymore. I have been receiving reports, kayong mga komunista, roaming around everywhere and some of you, I have reports from anywhere, you are into molesting or sexually abusing ‘yung mga tao sa bukid. Hinihipo ninyo ‘yung mga babae at ‘yung iba ninanakaw n’yo ang asawa,” GMA News quoted him as saying.

[I do not want to talk to the communists anymore. I have been receiving reports, you communists, roaming around everywhere and some of you, I have reports from anywhere, you are into molesting or sexually abusing those people in the mountains. You molest the women and some of them you take away from the husbands.]

The president said he would treat insurgents who molest and r**e the same as a drug lord.

“If I catch you, will treat you just like a drug lord – beyond that, you make your own guess,” he said.

Duterte added he is more than willing to continue the fight with the Reds if they continue their illicit activities.

“Is that the kind of revolution we have been fighting for 50 years? If you want another 50 years, so be it,” he said. “‘Di ko talaga, kalokohan na ganon [I cannot tolerate that kind of foolishness].”
