MANILA, Philippines  –  Controversial whistleblower and staunch Duterte supporter Sandra Cam has reportedly been appointed to the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) Board of Directors.

Cam herself confirmed her appointment to reporters and said she has taken her oath before the President on Wednesday, December 6. However, the former jueteng whistleblower denied it was in return for her support of the President last election.

“I don’t think so. The President had given me the trust. I’ve been working so hard to help the less-fortunate and for the OFWs,” said Cam, who was lambasted on social media in March following an incident at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) where she made a scene after supposedly not being accorded a VIP treatment.

During the incident, Cam was allegedly quoted to have bragged about being appointed to the Cabinet in ‘three months’ or so.

But Cam defended herself from criticisms; saying she only blew her top because an airport staff asked her to pay P1,700 to use the VIP lounge.

As for her appointment to the PCSO, the controversial whistleblower vowed to prove her critics wrong.

“This is not a political position at makikita po ninyo [you will see], give me at least three months, I will prove to those detractors they are wrong,” she said.

Also appointed to the PCSO board along with Cam is Philippine National Taxi Operators Association president Bong Suntay.
