A man buying hundreds of shoes for the woman he loves is a scene that we usually see in movies and television series. But to cheer his girlfriend up after he lost a pair of shoes that is very important to her, a man bought 300 pairs of  Mario D’ boro footwear for her.

On Facebook, Jon Gutierrez shared the surprise he planned for his girlfriend, Jelai Andres, who has been saddened by the pair of shoes that he lost.

“Nawala ko ‘yong sapatos ni (Jelai) Andres…. Ako iyong may kasalanan…. Galit na galit siya,” Gutierrez said.

[I lost Andres’ shoes. It was my fault. She’s very mad at me.]

The pair of shoes is really important to Andres as she bought it in Doha, Qatar using the talent fee she received after performing there.

“Ngayon, babawi tayo sa kanya…. Ayoko na siyang malungkot, e. Ayokong malungkot siya. Gusto ko masaya lang siya,” he expressed.

[Now I will surprise her. I don’t want her to be sad anymore. I don’t like seeing her sad. I want her to be happy always.]

Gutierrez did not go to the church with Andres last Sunday, December 6. He told her that he is not feeling well.

What she did not know was he has ordered and paid for 302 pairs of Mario D’ boro footwear online. He bought all the available designs of footwear from the store and such were expected to be delivered that day.

When his girlfriend arrived from the church, she asked him if he’s still not feeling well. He said yes.

When she entered the house and saw all the boxes arranged near the Christmas tree, she asked, “Nagkalat ka?”

He then explained that he bought all the pairs of footwear to replace the pair that he lost.

“Ito, puwede mo ‘pag nagkakape ka. Ito kapag kumain ka ng dinner, ta’s breakfast. ‘Pag humihinga ka, ito,” he joked.

[You can wear this while having coffee. This one, if you’re eating dinner. And this, if you’re eating breakfast. This one, when you’re breathing.]

Still, she did not believe that all the shoes are for her.

“Sa’n mo nakuha ‘to? Ibebenta ko ba ‘to?” she even asked him.

[Where did you get these? Am I going to sell this?]

When she finally believed him, she cried while saying, “Hindi mo naman kailangang palitan ‘yon. Natutuwa lang ako, ang dami kong sapatos. Thank you. But ‘di mo kailangang gawin ‘yon.”

[You don’t have to do that. I’m happy that I have plenty of shoes. Thank you. But you don’t have to do that.]

As of posting, the video already has almost 28,000 shares, over 58,000 reactions, and more than 1.3 million views.
