- Bruno Mars had one of the biggest takeaways during the latest Grammy Awards night
- He got a total of 7 awards for his album “24 K Magic” and song “That’s What I Like”
Popular singer-songwriter Bruno Mars took home 7 trophies during the 60th Annual Grammy Awards held at the Madison Square, New York last January 28, Sunday.
The half-Filipino, half-Puerto Rican artist was one of those who received the most numerous awards in the event.
His album 24K Magic won “Album of the Year”, “Best R&B Album”, and ‘Best Engineered Album: Non-Classical”, while his single “That’s what I like” was labeled as “Best R&B Performance”, “Best R&B Song”, “Record of the Year” and “Song of the Year”.
He defeated some famous artists like Jay-Z, who went home empty-handed that night.
His “Album of the Year” win also made some of Kendrick Lamar’s fans upset. Some of Lamar’s fans tweeted that the award should have been given to him instead of Mars.
The 32-year-old celebrity also performed a powerful and fun rendition of the song “Finesse” which was considered as one of the most well-received performances in the Grammy’s, according to Billboard.
For some reason, Bruno Mars and other male artists dominated the entire awards night.
